A while ago my client told me she was going to do a ginger bath for detoxification purposes. While I knew that adding ginger to a warm bath helps to relieve soreness in muscles and joints, I had not heard of the ginger detox bath before.
This is what you do. Pour 1/8 cup or more of grated ginger under warm running water into the bathtub. Then you get in the tub and run more hot water. After about 20 minutes, most likely you will start sweating. Try to stay in for another 20 minutes, adding more hot water if necessary. When you get out, wrap yourself in a large towel or bathrobe and crawl into bed. If you prefer, you can stay up. Either way you will be sweating toxins out of your body for a while.
Yes, I tried it. I did a lot of sweating, slept well, and woke up feeling great.
Now I must admit that I overslept the next morning, but I think that was because I stayed up late doing some research on ginger and massage. Now I am working on gathering ingredients for a ginger oil massage. Until that is ready, try adding some ginger to your herbal tea for a tasty drink. If you really love ginger, you can just have some plain ginger tea.
Ginger has several well-known beneficial properties. It reduces inflammation, stimulates circulation, and removes toxins from the body - triple threat!!
