I'm never quite sure what works with new clients. So today, inquiring minds want to know what you want to hear during your massage session.
No music and no talking? Silence is golden. Shush! No music, but talking? Sometimes you need to vent before you can relax. Often you just want to share some good news. Talking, but no music? You have something really important that needs to be said and heard.
Some of you want to bring your music along. Don't worry. If I don't care for it, I tune it out. Often I don't even listen to what I play for you because I've heard it so many times. Bring whatever makes you happy.
Sound machines? White noise is necessary to try to block noises that interfere with your relaxing, but that is not always effective. I remember the jackhammer that came mid-massage. Neither the client nor I verbally acknowledged it, but I felt the tension in his back. I kept on massaging long after it stopped and the client was almost comatose. These days, however, I find the ocean waves to be very relaxing for clients.
So, let's hear it!
