Train travel. Over the past couple of weeks, I've had the pleasure of riding Amtrak for hours on end. No complaints about the seats from me, but I'm short.
Those with longer legs need to head toward the "family seats" on the coach car and maybe you'll get lucky. My only issue is when I have a seat mate invading my personal space. You know what I am talking about, right?
Anyway, once safe and secure in my seat for a long journey, I try to do the same set of exercises that I do on the plane. Neck rolls, shoulder shrugs, ankle rotations, calf raises, etc. are just a few things in my repertoire to stay loose and release tension. However, I love to get a massage after riding on the train, especially a day or so after arriving home.
If you're like me, your back and hips have likely tightened up. Sleep on the train and your neck will pay the price. I think a relaxing massage will straighten out the kinks, so be sure to preschedule that homecoming massage. Enjoy riding the rails and that soothing massage at your destination.
