Seattle researchers recently published results about the effects of massage and timing for neck pain. Karen Sherman, the senior investigator, found that when neck functioning and pain levels were evaluated a week after treatment ended, patients who received an hour of massage three times a week showed the most improvement after four weeks of massage.
Obviously, more research is needed. The background information in Sherman’s study states neck pain accounts for more than 10 million medical visits a year in the United States. Neck pain is definitely a pain.
