Yes, you may need a lube job if you are running/walking on March 28 in Richmond, Virginia. I am not talking about oiling your joints, although for me that sounds like a lovely idea.
Sweating and rubbing while running can cause chafing. To avoid this problem, make sure you lubricate any potential problem areas. I have heard Body Glide and Runner's Lube are good products, but use what works best for you.
Protect your feet. Coat them with lubricant. Turn your socks inside out and put some lube on the sock itself. Turn your socks right side out and then put them on. For other areas such as inner thighs, underarms, or chest, an application of lubricant may prove useful.
Try to stay dry, drink your water, wear sweat-wicking clothing, and lube well.
Good luck and have fun!
